Captain Ross
Born in New Orleans, and raised Savannah, Georgia close to the Intracoastal Waterway and a great marina, Isle of Hope Marina. I was the kid hanging out on the dock, helping on the boats when I was lucky and fishing off the docks. I worked on the local boats all through high school and college.
After 15+ years work as a mate I got a 37’ Merritt, the Finest Kind, and ran my own charter boat operation for several years going to Mexico, the Bahamas, St. Thomas and Venezuela.
After 5 years with Tim I moved back to Florida and for several years worked part time fishing while building business as a yacht broker. But fishing was to big a draw to stay away from and I went to sea again running a 65’ Monterey called the Marlin Monroe. Again St. Thomas and the Pacific were on the schedule.
From the Marlin Monroe I went to Rum Cay Bahamas and running the Relentless. Again great fishing and good times and charters, I moved on to being Captain on the Loaner.
Highlights of my fishing career.
Numerous tournament wins including the Guatemalan Club Nautico Sailfish Tournament, the Flamingo 4th Of July Marlin Tournament and the I.L.T.T.A.
Tournament held in Flamingo Costa Rica.
In a career spanning 30+ years I’ve caught and released over 15k billfish and had many other great catches including 50 sailfish in one day, 6 blue marlin in a day twice, over 300 sailfish on the fly, the women's 12lb. blue marlin record, since broken and 14 stripe marlin on the fly to mention a few.
I’m so addicted to fishing I have to do it for a living.
